How is UFE performed?

Uterine Fibroid Embolisation (UFE) is a minimally invasive procedure with significant benefits. The procedure has 3 main steps👇🏾

1️⃣ A microcatheter is inserted via the wrist, and carefully navigated to the uterine arteries supplying blood to the fibroids.

2️⃣ Embolic agents or tiny particles are introduced to obstruct blood flow to the fibroids. 

3️⃣ Deprived of blood supply, the targeted fibroids gradually shrink and disappear.
