How is UFE performed?

Uterine Fibroid Embolisation (UFE) is a minimally invasive procedure with significant benefits. The procedure has 3 main steps👇🏾

1️⃣ A microcatheter is inserted via the wrist, and carefully navigated to the uterine arteries supplying blood to the fibroids.

2️⃣ Embolic agents or tiny particles are introduced to obstruct blood flow to the fibroids.

3️⃣ Deprived of blood supply, the targeted fibroids gradually shrink and disappear.

We recommend an overnight stay for observation, and most patients can resume work the next day. If you have been diagnosed and UFE sounds like the right solution for you, please visit our website

Why test bone density?

Osteoporosis is a bone disease that develops when bone mineral density and bone mass decreases, causing changes to the structure and strength of the bone. Women are at higher risk for osteoporosis, and this risk increases with age. At MIC, our state-of-the-art bone densitometry machine allows us to diagnose and monitor low bone mass and osteoporosis. Why choose UFE?

Uterine Fibroid Embolisation (UFE) is a minimally invasive procedure that effectively treats fibroids; conducted via a tiny incision in the wrist. UFE is known for its quick recovery and minimal downtime, but it is particularly popular for patients who still wish to have children one day. Unlike a hysterectomy, UFE preserves the uterus, while still eradicating symptoms and treating the root cause.
